Last days we had the first plenary meeting of the LIFE SPAN. Representatives of all partners met in the Cansiglio for a two-day meeting and visit to the demonstration sites.
The participation of researchers from Würzburg University, who came from Germany especially for the meeting, allowed a discussion in the field aimed at harmonizing the planned interventions and preparing the team for the next steps.
It was also an opportunity to visit the senescence island created a few years ago by the LIFE ManFor C.BD. project in Western Cansiglio and evaluate the impact on the forest structure and biodiversity before starting to work on the SHS (Saproxylic Habitat Sites).
Part of the project team will now continue to the forest of Sailershausen, in Bavaria, to visit the German demonstration site and complete the drafting of the survey and monitoring protocols.
